Major Google Outage as Gmail and other Google services not working ‘for a majority of users’

Gmail and other Google services have stopped working amid a major outage for the technology giant.

Gmail users were greeted with a “Temporary Error” message.

It stated: “We’re sorry, but your account is temporarily unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience and suggest trying again in a few minutes. You can view the G Suite Status Dashboard for the current status of the service.”

Google Drive and YouTube, which is also owned by Google, were also down on Monday morning.

Google’s Server Status Dashboard was updated with the message: “We’re aware of a problem with Gmail affecting a majority of users. The affected users are unable to access Gmail. We will provide an update by 14 December, 12:12 PM detailing when we expect to resolve the problem. Please note that this resolution time is an estimate and may change.”

Users around the world were affected by the outage, according to the website health tracker Down Detector, though the largest concentration of reported problems appeared to come from the Europe.
